I tried to remember the last time I posted something on my blog, and realized it was a couple of months ago. Oops! And so much has happened during these months that I don’t really know where to start… I’ve seen Tackey & Tsubasa several more times, I’ve travelled some, met new people, experienced Tokyo – most things deserve their own blog posts, so I’ll get back to them later.
PLAYZONE ’12 Song & Dancin’ Part II
A few weeks ago I experienced the most amazing dancing show, that is PLAYZONE. For those of you who are not familiar with it, it’s one of the stage shows that are set up by idols from Johnny’s Entertainment every year. This year, like the previous two years, Imai Tsubasa (one half of Tackey & Tsubasa) led the show. It was buckets of luck more than anything else that finally let me see the show on the 2nd of August – and you can probably guess that I’m really happy about it! Here is my long (I’ve warned you) report!
Hanabi, Matsuri and the Movies
Okay, most things about Japan are wonderful and exciting right now, but some of the best things now during summer has to be all the hanabis and matsuris! I’ve been to several already and just have to share!
Takki Summer Tour – Report from Yoyogi
On July 26, I went to my first ever concert with Takizawa Hideaki (Takki). It was the first concert of the summer tour, and the first out of two in Yoyogi, Tokyo. I was prepared for an awesome and fun show, but it was even better than I had thought it would be! As one could expect from Takki, it was filled with glitter, love, juniors – and Tsubasa. Here’s my report – but I warn you, it’s pretty long!
Freezing!
When I went outside my door this morning I stopped dead – not because it was raining again, but because it was freezing outside! Okay, I guess it was about 20 degrees, but that is freezing for being Japan in the middle of summer! And I had just gotten used to 35 degrees… I’ve complained about the heat earlier, but I hope that I won’t have to experience more Swedish summer now, I want the Tokyo summer back…
Pub Night, Picnic and Karaoke
How time flies! And things are happening all the time! During the past I have studied a lot, had my first test at school, been to a pub night in Takadanobaba, been to a picnic in the Yoyogi park and been to karaoke for the first time! And all the while I’ve met a lot of new and very nice people!
I’ve Got A Cell Phone!
I’ve finally got a Japanese cell phone! The new freedom and possibility to be reached and to reach others outside of my dorm with my laptop makes it totally worth the two hours I spent getting the phone… Here’s some practical information about getting a cell phone in Japan!
Tanabata Matsuri and Shopping in Nihonbashi
Today (or yesterday, July 7th) it was Tanabata Matsuri (七夕祭り) here in Japan, which can be translated as “the star festival”, och on the Friday we students of Akamonkai got the chance to celebrate the festivals like the Japanse do – by writing wishes on pieces of paper, which are then used to decorate bamboo trees.
I Live in Japan Now!
It’s been almost a week now and I still haven’t really grasped that I actually live in Tokyo now! I mean to update this blog as often as possible, between lessons, study groups and outings. I chose to study at a school in Nippori, called Akamonkai, and so far all seems good!
Takitsuba 10th Anniversary Fan Event Tokyo – April 1, 2012
I’m writing this report later than late, and later than what’s acceptable. But here it is! In April 2012 I went to Tokyo to go to Tackey & Tsubasa’s 10th Anniversary Fan Event, an event that I will never forget, an event which I left with shaky knees and a melting heart!
