The biggest cinema event this summer was the final part of Harry Potter, without a doubt. After a couple days of mental preparations, I was sitting in the cinema, with high expectations, waiting for the big finale of the ten-year-long adventure. I wasn’t disappointed. The movie was even a little better than I thought it would be.
New Adventures with Jack Sparrow
On Thursday evening I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The day before I read a review that wasn’t very positive – which to me sounded good, because usually I have the opposite opinion of movies than the experts in the papers have. My own thought about the movie: It wasn’t at all too much of Jack Sparrow.
And the Nominees Are…
On June 5th, the MTV Movie Awards 2011 will be awarded. Today they revealed the nominees and the voting has opened! Here are some of the categories with their nominees:
Lord of the Rings Fans – Look This Way!
It’s been a very long and shaky journey, but now it’s finally rolling along fine! “The Hobbit” movie shooting started on the 21st of March, and now there’s a video from the set on Peter Jackson’s Facebook page. I have to admit that I was a little teary-eyed at the end of the video… Watch it here:
Tangled
Yesterday evening I went together with my family to watch the new Disney movie “Tangled”. It’s a new version of the classic tale about Rapunzel with the long golden hair. The kidnapped princess is called Rapunzel here as well. The handsome thief Flynn Rider happens to meet her on her 18th birthday and the adventure begins! This is a typical Disney movie, filled with humour, romance and just enough suspense. A movie worth seeing no matter your age!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1
Last Saturday I went to the cinema and (finally!!) watched “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 1″. That’s the movie I’ve been longing for the most this year. And I wasn’t disappointed. Without a doubt it’s the best Harry Potter movie so far, and now I’m crossing my fingers that part 2 will be at least as good. Almost everything felt connected and understandable. Very neat and very skillful.
“The Hobbit” Stays in New Zealand!
There have been discussions for a long time now whether or not the Hobbit movies should be filmed in New Zealand like the Lord of the Rings trilogy. People haven’t agreed with each other, to simplify the matter. But now it’s been decided! The Hobbit will be filmed in New Zealand!
Harry Potter Trailer
The tenth trailer for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 1″ has been released! The other nine trailers are available on YouTube. I don’t have a favorite among them, so I just picked one at random.
MTV Movie Awards
Tonight I actually stayed up and watched the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. The show was nice, but then, I haven’t watched so many movie awards to compare with… Anyway, both “New Moon” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” were nominated in many categories, and the showed pieces from the coming movie “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 1″!
