January was definitely not a good writing month… 16,445 words out of the 62,500 words that was my goal. I only wrote 3,000 words for JanNoWriMo. I hope that February will be a better month!
Writing Goals for January
I didn’t get enough of writing in November when I participated in NaNoWriMo for the first time. December was a calm month, I only wrote 6k words, compared to the 52k+ words I wrote in November… “I’ll get a fresh start in January, then!” I thought. Well, I kind of make some progress, but not that much, haha! Here are my goals for January:
I Won!
Last night I won NaNoWriMo! I’m so wonderfully happy right now. Actually I wasn’t sure I would make it, but apparently I was determined enough to win. So I have validated and got the beautiful purple mark in the NaNo forums. But the last chapter isn’t finished yet.
Excited about NaNoWriMo!
I’m really excited about this challenge! 50,000 words in 30 days. The longest piece of fiction I ever wrote before was a couple of handwritten pages where most of it were almost identical to my favorite books in a wonderful mixture… But now the goal is a (short) novel, 50,000 words, as I said. I will make it!
Things Are Running Smoothly!
It’s amazing how something that felt so tough and so difficult can run so smoothly! I sat down with the outline for my NaNo novel this afternoon, and it’s gone from being 25% gaping holes to being almost completely planned out! It feels really great, because I feel that I will need a detailed outline this year. Is there anyone else out there who will also participate in NaNoWriMo?
Time To Start Planning!
Now it’s less than two months until NaNoWriMo starts – National Novel Writing Month. I’ve actually entered this year. For so many years I’ve been thinking it would be fun, a good challenge for me, a way to force myself to actually write, to really try to create something for real. Now is the time at last!
