Yesterday, July 2nd, marked exactly 1 year since I came to Tokyo to study. 1 year! I can’t believe time has passed this quickly. Sometimes it feels like I have only lived here for a few months. The sad thing is I came here intending to blog regularly about my experiences in this amazing city – that hasn’t happened. But now I feel that for the first time in I don’t know how long I am focused enough to actually start blogging again. And I will also blog about some of the things I have experienced during the past year.
Some things that have happened lately:
- In the past year I have moved a total of 3 times – the last time was last Saturday, so now I live in a private room again after having lived in a shared room for the past half-year.
- When the new semester starts tomorrow I will have advanced to the Intermediate level of my Japanese studies.
- I have met a lot of wonderful people here, both Japanese and non-Japanese.
- The date for my journey back to Sweden has changed many times, but now it’s been decided and the flight ticket is booked – I will return home at the start of October. Until then I will enjoy Tokyo as much as I can!
- A couple of my best-buys lately: denshi jisho (electronical dictionary for Japanese, including kanji) and iPod.
- The summer has arrived for real! 30 degrees Celsius and a whole lot of sun now that the rainy season is finally over, however it’s getting even warmer and even more humid. But if I survived it last year I will definitely survive it this year!
