One place outside of Tokyo that I could go to over and over again is the island Enoshima. In May 2015 I went there for the third time, and I walked around most of the island and visited the aquarium.
Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa, May 2015
One of the best outings I made during my trip to Tokyo in May 2015 was when I went with a friend to Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa, about 30 kilometers west of central Tokyo.
Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens, September 2013
This incredibly beautiful garden is located right beside Tokyo Dome City, in the middle of Tokyo. It’s one of Tokyo’s oldest parks and gardens – the construction started in 1629 by the feudal lord Tokugawa Yorifusa.
Walking in Asakusa, August 2013
During my last summer living in Tokyo I went on many short outings to have many memories to bring back with me to Sweden. I enjoyed (and still enjoy) walking along small roads in areas not very frequented by tourists.
Sightseeing: Museums, Asakusa and Odaiba
At the end of March and beginning of April of 2013 my family came to visit me in Tokyo. We did all sorts of things, and I showed them my favorite spots and the different sides of Tokyo.
Snow, Plum Blossoms and Gardens
When I lived in Tokyo between 2012-2013 we only had snow for one single day. Me and my room mate took the opportunity to build a snowman in the square outside the train station, to the amusement of the Japanese… Then eventually March came around, and I visited shrines and parks to enjoy the spring foliage.
Kamakura & Enoshima, November 2012
It’s time to continue telling about things I experienced when I lived in Japan! On November 14, 2012 I went with my school on a school trip to Kamakura and Enoshima. It was a lovely day!
Beautiful Day by the Waterfall
I couldn’t stand sitting inside the whole day when the sun was shining outside! So I took my boyfriend with me for a walk to the waterfall just beneath the mountain some mile from where he lives.
More Geocaching
We went out geocaching tonight as well. But we weren’t as successful as yesterday, we didn’t find as many caches. But we did see a beautiful church that I didn’t know about before, and a beautiful area where I would like to go on a day off with a picnic basket!
I’ve Got A New Hobby – Geocaching!
My sister’s fiancé introduced me to a new hobby – geocaching. Short summary: with the help of GPS coordinates you search for hidden jars and boxes (caches) where you put your name on a list. I was fascinated that there are so many who do this around the world. Tonight I went out with my siblings and previously mentioned fiancé for our first geocaching trip together!
